LIVE ENCOUNTERS

A practical D&D combat tracker

Initiative, rounds, and turns

Order players, NPCs, and monsters by initiative, highlight the active combatant, advance turns, count rounds, and use an optional timer to maintain pace.

HP, armor class, and death saves

Apply damage and healing quickly, edit current and maximum hit points, display temporary HP buffs, and track player death save successes and failures.

Conditions, buffs, and debuffs

Mark poisoned, prone, stunned, and frightened combatants while recording timed effects, bonuses, penalties, and ongoing damage.

DM Panic Button and undo

Get fast options for easing or intensifying a fight, adding reinforcements, or correcting the last combat change without disrupting the session.

NEW · PLAY TOGETHER · FREE

Let your players follow the fight on their phones

Share a link or QR code and your players see the turn order and party health update live, with no login. You stay in control of what they see.

Live player view

Players see turn order, the active turn, party hit points, and conditions. Enemies show only as Healthy, Bloodied, or Down, so stat blocks and secret hit points stay behind your screen.

Hide an ambush

Mark any creature as hidden from players and it stays off their screens until you reveal it.

Turn alerts

Each player picks their character and gets a “You’re up next” banner and a phone buzz when their turn is close.

Player HP reports

Players tap in their own damage or healing and you approve each change with one tap, so the DM keeps the final say.

Fight results you can share

End the fight and the same link becomes a summary with the outcome, the number of rounds, and who is still standing.

Smarter turns for the DM

Multi-level undo and redo, concentration save prompts when a concentrating creature is hit, legendary and lair action reminders, a session queue for tonight’s encounters, campaign stats, and JSON or CSV import and export.

PREP AND CAMPAIGNS

Build encounters in minutes

Random encounter generator

Enter party levels, select a difficulty, and generate a level-aware encounter using the 2014 thresholds and monster multiplier or the 2024 XP budgets, with the matching SRD monster library.

5e and 5.5e rules toggle

Switch each encounter between the 2014 SRD 5.1 and 2024 SRD 5.2 monster libraries. Your last choice is remembered. Search monsters, add multiple copies, and open stat blocks containing armor class, hit points, challenge rating, traits, and actions.

Campaigns, parties, and rosters

Save player and character names, recurring parties, notes, and reusable encounter templates. Google sign-in enables syncing across supported devices.

XP awards and session recaps

Calculate encounter XP, distribute it among player characters, and copy or download the automatic combat log for campaign notes.

NEW · ENCOUNTER PLAYTESTING · VETERAN TIER AND UP

Find out how deadly an encounter really is before game night

Playtest is a preparation tool for Dungeon Masters. It tests your encounters against a party you set up. It doesn’t write your story or change anything at your table.

Quick simulation

Run any encounter 100 to 1,000 times and see the win rate, the chance of a total party kill, how often each hero goes down, and a Low, Moderate, High, or Deadly verdict. It is unlimited for Patreon members.

Your party, your monsters

Choose how many heroes, and each one’s class and level. “Match my players” copies your characters’ names, classes, levels, hit points, and armor class. Build your own creatures with attacks, multiattack, a breath weapon, and regeneration, or use any SRD monster from either edition.

Watch the AI play

An AI plays the heroes turn by turn, choosing targets, spells, and healing, while you watch a live log with the dice rolls and its reasoning. You can play the monsters yourself by speaking or typing their orders each round.

Honest about its limits

Playtest reads both 2014 (5e) and 2024 (5.5e) stat blocks and models attacks, saving throws, recharge breath weapons, legendary actions, regeneration, death saves, and damaging spells like Fireball. It applies damage resistances, immunities, and vulnerabilities, real monster saving throws, Legendary Resistance, Magic Resistance, and Pack Tactics from the monster library, and it simulates monster effects like paralysis, fear, poison, and being restrained or knocked prone, plus traits such as Reckless, burning auras, Relentless, Undead Fortitude, and Martial Advantage. Heroes use class features like Second Wind, Action Surge, Uncanny Dodge, Shield, and Spirit Guardians, monsters can charm and parry, and you can start the fight with a worn-down party. It doesn’t simulate positioning, grapple and swallow, or control spells cast by heroes, and it tells you when a monster has abilities it couldn’t read.

IMMERSION AND VIRTUAL TABLETOPS

Voices and exports that support the table

Voices for NPCs and monsters

Create spoken dialogue using creature profiles, voice choices, emotion, delivery, intensity, speed, and pitch. Local voice previews remain free; generated voices require a linked Patreon pledge.

Reusable voice library

Save generated dialogue, replay existing clips without another generation charge, rename clips, and download audio for later sessions.

Roll20 companion tools

Copy encounter summaries and Roll20 commands, copy a Playtest result as a GM-only Roll20 chat card, then download generated character audio for use inside a Roll20 game. This is a companion export workflow rather than an official Roll20 integration.

Fantasy Skirmish Mode

Run an unofficial Onslaught-compatible fantasy skirmish with warbands, activations, HP, XP, conditions, objectives, victory points, and local autosaving.

Works on desktop, tablet, and phone

The responsive interface is designed for one- and two-tap actions during play. The installable web app also provides offline resilience so a temporary connection interruption does not have to stop the encounter.

NEW · TACTICAL CO-PILOT · BETA

Sage, a tactical co-pilot for your table

Sage reads the live encounter and suggests a move, a line to read aloud, and rolls hidden dice for you. It's advisory only — Init to Crit's tracker always stays the source of truth. Included with the Veteran Patreon tier and up.

CURRENT TURN

What should this creature do right now?

Sage weighs the live board — positions, HP, conditions — and returns a tactical move, read-aloud narration, and a rules check for the active combatant's turn.

DYNAMIC REACTION

Something just changed mid-round

Tell Sage what just happened — an ally dropped, a spell landed — and it suggests how an NPC or monster reacts in the moment, dice included.

ENVIRONMENT BEAT

Bring the scene to life

Prompt Sage with a story beat — a door breaking open, a trap triggering — for atmosphere, NPC dialogue, and environmental reactions to read at the table.
